Which boats do you sail, and how often? If you've never step foot on a boat before, that's okay too! We're just trying to gauge the needs of the team.

Includes everything from US Sailing instructor certifications to being First Aid Certified! These are not required, we are just trying to gain more information about team resources.

What to expect

We send out emails about once a week with updates on meetings, social gatherings, and ways to get more involved. If you're on the list, you'll have everything you need to be part of the team.

Types of Practices & Team Meetings

We plan to offer a variety of practices and meetings to help sailors of all skill levels improve, have fun, and build a strong team community. Here’s what to expect:

  • Regular Weekly Practices – These are structured training sessions designed for sailors looking to develop their skills, practice drills, and prepare for upcoming regattas. Depending on the group's experience level, we’ll focus on boat handling, racing techniques, starts, and tactical decision-making. Whether you’re fine-tuning your roll tacks or working on perfecting your starts, these practices will help you grow as a sailor.

  • Learn-to-Sail / Fun Fridays – No prior experience? No problem! These practices are designed for beginners and anyone who just wants to enjoy some time on the water. We’ll cover the basics—how to rig a boat, steer, trim sails, and work with the wind. These sessions are also a great opportunity for experienced sailors to bring friends and introduce them to the sport in a relaxed and fun environment.

  • Chalk Talks – These are off-the-water gatherings where we break down key sailing concepts, race strategy, and team logistics. Topics might include wind patterns, mark roundings, fleet and team racing tactics, or how to improve boat speed. These sessions provide a great way to learn and discuss sailing theory before putting it into practice on the water.

  • Team Events – Sailing is just as much about camaraderie as it is about competition! We’ll host team bonding events like group dinners, movie/game nights, hikes, and weekend lake days. These gatherings are a great way to build friendships, relax, and strengthen our team dynamic both on and off the water.

No matter your experience level, there’s a place for you on the team—whether you’re looking to train hard for regattas, learn the ropes for the first time, or just enjoy time with friends on the water!
